I love hearing from readers, not as much as I love wine, but a VERY close second!

Thanks!

What do these all have in common?

SPRING BREAK!! As a matter of fact, I am counting down. Suck it.

School is exhausting. And so much harder than I thought it would be. My brain is mush, which would explain why I booked a flight to Washington DC instead of warm and sunny Florida.

Though, at this point as long as I’m not in class I don’t care where I’m going. I could easily be content sitting on the couch in a pool of my own urine. But I won’t.  Instead I’ll visit our nation’s capital and not pee my pants, because I’m a good American.

  • Spring break ought to be a good time to visit DC. Most of the time it’s either too fiercely cold or too humidly hot. I think you will have fun.

  • Totally should have visited SD instead of DC.

  • SPRING BREAK = 2 weeks of kids home all day, no privacy and $600 a week in groceries… I love school days!

  • Of course, you can’t pee your pants if you don’t wear them.

  • Two trips to DC in a few months? Do you have a secret booty call out there?

BTW, if you’re looking for some good restaurants out there, I highly recommend:

Zikrayet for Lebanese cuisine. Big vegetarian menu, and the place gets really hopping after 9 or so. I’d recommend a reservation.

Cafe Trope for French Caribbean food. I haven’t found a place locally that serves anything like it.

Thai Chef for great (and inexpensive) Thai food. They also have a sushi bar and great Happy Hour specials.

  • I’m going to DC for spring break too! Nice choice!

  • How many thong bikinis are you packing? It is spring break and all.

  • Ugh, that’s not fair! I only get one week for spring break, and I have to spend Saturday interviewing for vet school! Well, I’d rather that than be rejected, but still…not exactly stress-free.

Then I’m spending the end of the week at my parents’ house in south Florida. Gross. Sure, it’ll be warm, and it’ll probably be sunny, but I’d take the snow any day over Boca Raton.

For what it’s worth, most of Florida is not “warm and sunny,” no matter what your grandmother tells you. It’s in the 30′s here right now, and I know that’s not negative-whatever-with-a-windchill, but it’s still pretty cold. Not beach weather, anyway. And the summer is rainy and full of tourists. Spending vacations in DC is a good call.

  • No Florida? I think you’d love it down here. So, this morning it was colder in Miami than it was in SLC. I’m coming to SLC tomorrow, just to warm up.

Have fun in DC. Hot or cold, it’s such a great town.
